Emina Ganić

Director of Sarajevo Film Academy (Bosnia and Herzegovina)

Graduate of Oxford University, Oxford, UK, with a BA in Modern History. Currently holds the positions of University Sarajevo School of Science and Technology Dean of Students and Member of University Governing Board, as well as Sarajevo Film Academy Director. From 2000 to 2004 worked as Adviser to the Special Representative of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe in BiH, headed numerous CoE campaigns and projects implemented in BiH dealing with cultural cooperation, education, legal and institutional reform. From 2004 worked as International Relations Director for the Sarajevo Film Festival. In 2010, she launched the establishment of a first private film school in Bosnia and Herzegovina – the Sarajevo Film Academy, within the scope of the Sarajevo School of Science and Technology and supported by the MET Foundation. In 2012, in cooperation with the acclaimed Hungarian director Bela Tarr, Ms Ganić founded the Film Factory Project as a PhD level-program within the Sarajevo Film Academy. She is regularly invited by various cultural institutions, University of Sarajevo departments, NGOs and PR agencies to offer lectures, workshops and consulting on a range of topics dealing with higher education, organization of large-scale cultural projects, funding of non-governmental institutions and international marketing and visibility. She has consulted on and edited a number of academic papers, books and publications in the field of education.
