How does “Europe Today” look like today? In 2011, East West Centre in cooperation with the Slovenian National Theatre, Maribor produced a play based on the famous essay “Europe Today”, written by Miroslav Krleža in 1935.
The Europe of today discussed by the stars of the play, to which the Financial Times 4-star review notes, “It was quite disconcerting, a little chilling, and showed that sometimes a non-naturalistic presentation can be the most real of all”.
