Finished studies of History at the History Department at the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo, and received his M.A. and Ph.D. from the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb. Had been working for a year at the Institute for History in Banja Luka, and employed with the Institute for History in Sarajevo by 2016. From 2002 to 2016 served as Director of the Institute for History in Sarajevo, and currently works as regular professor with the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Sarajevo. Between 2006 and 2009, he was the leader of the BiH research team under the international research project: “New and Ambiguous Nation-building Processes in South-eastern Europe: Collective Identities in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Macedonia, Moldova and Montenegro in Comparison (1944–2005)”, which had been implemented at the Institute for Eastern European Studies, Department of History, FU Berlin (Germany). Was the leader of the BiH research team under the project named “Repräsentationen des sozialistischen Jugoslawien im Umbruch”. Was a guest professor at L’École des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS) in Paris. Contributed to various scientific magazines in Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad, as well as numerous daily, weekly and monthly newspapers in BiH. To date, published 9 books and close to 100 research papers about history of Bosnia and Herzegovina of 19th and 20th centuries.
