Dino Mustafić

Director (Bosnia and Herzegovina)

Graduated from the Department of Directing at the Academy of Performing Arts Sarajevo, and from the Department of Literature at the Faculty of Philosophy Sarajevo. He has directed in theatres in Sofia, Belgrade, Zagreb, Ljubljana, Rijeka, Trieste, Split, Maribor, Nova Gorica, Skopje, Priština, Podgorica, Paris, etc. His plays have been performed and awarded at numerous festivals in Cairo, Roma, Firenze, Madrid, Bogota, Guadalajara, Paris, London, Stockholm, Istanbul, Varna, Vratsa, San Jose, Budva, Rijeka, Venice, Zagreb, Novi Sad, Subotica, Nikšić, Belgrade, Ljubljana, Skopje, Bursa, Modena, and others. Having won 23 international awards, his play ”Helver’s Night” has gone down in the history of the Bosnian theatre as the most awarded play. He has staged over 90 texts by classic and contemporary writers. He has made several documentaries and the feature “Remake”, which has screened at more than 40 international festivals and been awarded in Munich and San Francisco. From 2003 till 2005 he was Artistic Director of the Drama Department of the Sarajevo National Theatre. He is a Lecturer at the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo and the Sarajevo Film Academy. He has been head of the International Theatre Festival MESS from 1997 till 2015.
