Founder and member of the cult Slovenian band “Laibach”, one of the most successful avant-garde bands from the former Yugoslavia. Laibach has dominated the music scene with its uncompromising political views, specific musical expression and live performances since the 1980s. From the very beginning, the band provoked numerous controversies due to the parody of militaristic, nationalist and totalitarian iconography, and was censored in Socialist Yugoslavia, which led to foreign tours and, consequently, international fame. Novak has been releasing music albums with the band since 1985, including the albums “Opus Dei” and “Jesus Christ Superstars”. He was born in Trbovlje, Slovenia.
