{"id":3740,"date":"2025-08-22T21:55:00","date_gmt":"2025-08-22T19:55:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sarajevofest.com\/?post_type=event&#038;p=3740"},"modified":"2025-08-27T19:46:04","modified_gmt":"2025-08-27T17:46:04","slug":"libera-me","status":"publish","type":"event","link":"https:\/\/sarajevofest.com\/en\/events\/libera-me\/","title":{"rendered":"Libera Me"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LIBERA ME \u2013 an audiovisual performance by Maja Ze\u0107o and Roman Stolyar<\/p>\n<p>The Goethe-Institut Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sarajevo Fest 2025 present the audiovisual performance \u201cLIBERA ME\u201c by Maja Ze\u0107o and Roman Stolyar, which, through powerful soundscapes and video art, brings to life the stories of witnesses of the two most recent European wars. Based on interviews with Bosnians and Herzegovinians, Ukrainians, and Russians, this documentary anti-war project seeks ways of liberation from fear, hatred, and distrust that military conflicts instill and that divide nations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLIBERA ME\u201c is an appeal for peaceful coexistence of people of different ethnic and geographical backgrounds in a global world where all borders can be overcome. Bosnian-German actress Maja Ze\u0107o and Russian pianist and composer Roman Stolyar met in 2021 at the workshop \u201cA Beloved Enemy\u201c at the National Theatre in Zenica and have been collaborating ever since. Today they both live in Berlin and are themselves witnesses of the wars in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in Ukraine. Their first joint project was the short film \u201cPostcards from Mostar\u201c. Drawing on their own stories of displacement, experiences, and traumas, from 2022 to 2024 they conducted interviews with witnesses of both wars, out of which the audiovisual performance \u201cLIBERA ME\u201c was created.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Performance<\/strong><br \/>\nDuration: 55 minutes<br \/>\nConcept, direction: Maja Ze\u0107o, Roman Stolyar<br \/>\nNarration, video: Maja Ze\u0107o<br \/>\nMusic and editing: Roman Stolyar<br \/>\nSaxophone: Camila Nebbia<br \/>\nVocals: Beatriz Gij\u00f3n Gij\u00f3n, Tisa Ne\u017ea Herlec<br \/>\nNarrators: Grirori Kofman, Maja Ze\u0107o, Roman Stolyar<br \/>\nWitnesses: Alyona, Joha, Svetlana, Asmir, Tatiana, Oleg, Vedrana, Jasmina, Amila,<br \/>\nIrma, Julia, Maja<\/p>\n<p>The performance is presented in B\/C\/S, Ukrainian, and Russian with English<br \/>\nsubtitles.
