Igor Vuk Torbica
Graduated from the Department for Theatrical and Radio Directing at the Faculty of Drama Arts in Belgrade, in the class of Professor Alisa Stojanović, where he currently attends post-graduate studies and works as expert associate at the department of Theatrical Directing. To date, he has worked as assistant director on performances by Dino Mustafić (Born in YU, Yugoslav Drama Theatre, and Patriotic Hypermarket, Bitef Theatre, Belgrade), Sonja Vukičević (Rodoljupci, Serbian National Theatre, Novi Sad), and Ana Đorđević (The Fourteenth, National Theatre of Republika Srpska, Banja Luka). He directed “Don Juan” by Molière (National Theatre Toša Jovanović, Zrenjanin), and Von Kleist’s “The Broken Jug” (Yugoslav Drama Theatre, Belgrade), which was played as guest performance at many festivals in the region (in Croatia at the International Festival of Small Scenes in Rijeka, and at the Days of the Satire in Zagreb), and won numerous awards. He received the Hugo Klein award for the best student of theatrical directing in his generation. The performance “Pokojnik” (The Deceased) started out as an exam exercise on the third year of his studies, and won the main award of the festival Studio fest and was included in the regular repertoire of the Yugoslav Drama Theatre. It was proclaimed the Best Play at the Festival at the Nušić’s Days in Smederevo.
